OUR MOTTO
“Saa vidyaa yaa Vimuktye”
The college has adopted the above statement as the mission statement. “Knowledge leads to liberation of an individual”. According to our ancestors, there are different kinds of education – Vedas, laws, metaphysics, public administration and applied arts such as agriculture, commerce, medicine etc. Knowledge derived from these branches of study brings us respect and status in the society, Liberation (Salvation) through Education is the goal of our institution. We need liberation from poverty, hunger, Slavery, inferiority complex, superstition etc. The institution aims to liberate the stake holders from the above curses.
Indian tradition has prescribed four purposes to man : Dharma (good character and obligation. Artha (welfare) Kama (fulfillment of desire) Moksha (Salvation or freedom). These values give us courage, Self-confidence and determination. Apart from these, the institution aims to build the character of students. We believe that education should make man modest, and the institution strives to achieve this and the other goals. Knowledge and ignorance are the two concepts related to education. Right understanding is knowledge which leads to enlightenment and salvation. Wrong perception is Avidya or ignorance. The institution aims to promote right understanding of the world and the individual which elevates one to attain the highest state Amrutatva . The process of attaining the highest goal through education, according to Upanishad, is Jnanayagna. The discourse between teacher and the the student in the attainment of these goals is one of the features of Jnanayagna. The statement ‘Saa vidyaa yaa Vimuktye’ incorporates all these. Therefore, the college has adopted this as the mission statement.
